Diversity , equity and inclusion

Our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I).

We continue to advance diversity, equity and inclusion across our operations. Most of our work around DE&I is guided through our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), including the Black Employees Advisory Board and the Hikma Women’s Network. Also, we are working to increase the representation of women in our leadership team. We have set a target to increase the gender diversity of the leadership team to a minimum of 35% women by the end of 2025.

Our commitment to DE&I

In the US, the Black Employees Advisory Board play a pivotal role in shaping our workplace culture and driving our diversity and inclusion initiatives. It undertakes internal and external activities geared toward inspiring black employees to achieve their fullest potential across the spectrum of professional development and employment opportunities at Hikma as well as supporting communities.
We support the National African American Male Wellness Walk in Columbus.

Our strong network of champions

Hikma Women’s Network resource group provides women and their allies, with a supportive community where women can network and offer mentorship, guidance and advice. In 2023, we have grown our Women’s Network. Our 25 regional US, Europe and MENA champions organised more than 20 online and face to face events to motivate, inspire and help foster the growth of women as individuals and professionally.

Hikma Women in Science

in 2023, the Hikma Women's Network launched the Hikma Women in Science Group, a global network of Hikma’s female employees specialising in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Medicine (STEMM).

Women’s Empowerment Principles

We are members of the Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs), which is a powerful way for us to show our commitment to creating a more inclusive workplace and making a positive impact on society.

Our progress

See our progress in action

Empowering young girls in our communities

The Hikma Women's Network sponsors the Go Girls Bootcamp in collaboration with The Alchemist Lab, a social organisation dedicated to empowering children and youth across MENA with skills to support better employability in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) fields.
Mentoring and empowering women with BPWA
In Jordan we have a partnership with the Business and Professional Women Association (BPWA) to mentor and empower women, featuring ‘power meet ups’ for women to discuss topics ranging from work-life balance, decision making, problem solving, time management and professional skills with their mentors.

We are committed to continuing to advance DE&I at Hikma and to creating a workplace where everyone can thrive. We are proud of the progress we have made so far; however, we know that there is still more work to be done.
