Operating transparently and ethically

We are committed to upholding the highest ethical standards in the conduct of our global business operations and across our value chain.

Business integrity at Hikma

We uphold business integrity through our Code of Conduct (seven languages, 98% training completion) and zero-tolerance approach to bribery and corruption, overseen by our Compliance, Responsibility and Ethics Committee.

Our formal third-party due diligence processes use risk-based categories with continuous monitoring, supported by integrated supplier management platforms for full transparency.

Our Speak Up platform enables confidential reporting of concerns, with all reports investigated by independent employees and violations addressed through disciplinary procedures.

Our Code of Conduct sets out behaviours we expect from our employees as we conduct our business, and provides an overview of our legal, regulatory, and ethical requirements.

Our Code of Conduct provides guidance to our employees and partners on the ethics of Hikma’s business activities through the identification and discussion of various risks associated with the business.

Hikma employees, officers and directors are trained on the Code of Conduct as part of their induction and employment. All employees undergo annual refresher training.

Our Supplier Code of Conduct sets out our values and principles that define what we stand for, along with the high-quality standards we expect from our ourselves, partners and suppliers. This code underpins our efforts to continue to strengthen our relationships, empower collaboration and build trust between us and everyone we work with, driving improved performance across our value chain.

We believe in promoting a culture of compliance that encourages employees and third parties to raise any concerns about alleged violations of laws and regulations, or other behaviours or incidents that they believe, in good faith, do not comply with our Code of Conduct or Company policies and procedures.

Hikma is committed to an environment where open, honest communications are the expectation, not the exception. We want employees to feel comfortable in approaching their supervisors, management or Human Resources in instances where they believe violations of policies or standards have occurred or may occur.

In situations where reporters prefer to place an anonymous report in confidence, our Speak Up platform provides both internal and external stakeholders a resource to raise concerns (confidentially and anonymously). Reports to the Speak-Up line may be made 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in multiple languages via our hotline, hosted by Ethics Point.

Governance and oversight

Our Compliance, Responsibility and Ethics Committee (CREC) oversees business integrity, compliance, and ethical conduct while steering key aspects of our sustainability strategy. The Committee monitors our water management, emissions reduction, and sustainable supply chain initiatives, and is preparing for Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) requirements from 2025 through an externally facilitated double materiality assessment that will update our sustainability framework.

Responsible value chain

We collaborate with suppliers and downstream stakeholders to integrate sustainability across our value chain, enhancing social and environmental practices, and addressing issues like anti-microbial resistance and packaging impacts.

Our Modern Slavery Task Force, including experts from Legal, Procurement, and Compliance, ensures respect for human rights and combats modern slavery through refined risk assessments and proactive strategies to mitigate supply chain risks.
