Press Release Responsibility 15 October 2018

The SDGs - also known as the Global Goals - are a set of plans aimed at ending poverty, extreme inequality and climate change by 2030. Agreed upon by world leaders in 2015, these goals can only be achieved through the support of businesses.

Hikma’s promise is to put better health, within reach, every day. The Group aims to achieve this by ensuring its products remain accessible to those who need them most, while continuously engaging with its communities to promote healthier and more prosperous lives. Much of Hikma’s work contributes directly towards the achievement of the SDGs. In 2017, Hikma adopted five goals that align most closely with its business and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy. These include: Good Health and Well-being, Quality Education, Gender Equality, Decent Work and Economic Growth, as well as Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure.

Hikma has been awarded three stars by Supporting the Goals. Stars are awarded when businesses publicly demonstrate plans, commitments, actions and progress towards the SDGs. “We truly believe in the importance of collaborative work to positively impact the world, which is why we promptly took on supporting the Global Goals as they are essential for enhancing quality of life,” commented Hana Darwazeh Ramadan, Vice President of Corporate Communication and Corporate Responsibility at Hikma. “We are proud to receive this recognition and we will continue to join global efforts that share our vision for a better future for generations to come.”
