Quality education
Ensure inclusive equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.
Support for education is intrinsic to our sustainability strategy. We are committed to providing our people with opportunities to realise their full potential through continuous learning and development. We also work to support our communities and disadvantaged groups where we operate. This commitment includes improving access to education resources #supporting education and supporting programmes in schools and universities around the world.
In 2015, we began to work with The Sweimeh School for Girls in Balqa to help reduce dropout rates and raise the graduation rate, which had been zero for the previous five years.
In addition to mentoring and teaching activities, we provided financial assistance to improve the school’s infrastructure and employees volunteered to assist with renovations. We are proud that since we began to work with Sweimeh there has been a noticeable improvement with three graduates in 2017 and seven in 2018. We continue to offer mentoring and training to improve the students’ employability after graduation.
