Donations in kind
We feel a real duty of care towards the communities in which we operate, especially those facing challenging conditions. Every year, we donate medical supplies to institutions and agencies that are responding to natural disasters or helping people with other difficulties or hardships. Over the past three years, we have donated more than 770,000 units of medical supplies to communities in need. We believe in a healthier world that enriches all of our communities.
Our Injaz education initiative: Educating and mentoring younger generations
Our dedication to the communities we serve sees us providing support for educational programmes and mentorships in schools and universities. We believe in providing opportunities for our communities through education. One of the partners we work with is Injaz, a global non-governmental organisation that focuses on teaching specialized skills to younger people through corporate mentorships. Educational programmes we contribute to include creating tailored curricula that cater for the specific needs of students. Our employees in specialized skills also volunteer their time and mentor pupils. We have partnered with Injaz in Jordan since 2013, and for 2017 we extended our work to Tunisia and Algeria.
Our partnership with Direct Relief: Providing access to Medicines
We believe that people everywhere should have access to quality medicines. Through our global partnership with Direct Relief, a humanitarian aid organization, we will help marginalized people in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) and the United States with their healthcare needs. In the MENA, we will work with the displaced and the impoverished, to ensure that refugees across the region receive better access to medicines. In the US, we will support Direct Relief’s Community Pharmacies, helping people without adequate medical insurance with urgent medical needs. Our partnership with Direct Relief is based on shared values and our promise of putting better health within reach, every day.
Our partnership with Prince's Trust: Supporting education and entrepreneurship
We’re here to serve people – from those who use our medicines to the wider community. Through our partnership with the Prince’s Trust, our employees can share their expertise and experience by working alongside young people who are seeking self-employment, offering them mentoring and feedback on their entrepreneurial ambitions. Our people will also regularly participate in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) based workshops, as well as fundraising for campaigns that support education and capacity-building.
