Our Generic business operates in the United States - one of the world’s most competitive pharmaceutical markets. Our success in this country not only highlights our ability to meet the most stringent regulatory requirements but also to satisfy a heterogeneous, cost-conscious customer base.
The Generic business operates under the West-ward label, selling 47 non-branded solid generics in 105 dosage strengths and forms. Although these span a variety of indications, we focus on the CNS, cardiovascular, anti-infective and musculoskeletal therapeutic areas.
The Generic business has 33 ANDAs awaiting FDA approval, including 25 new compounds not previously marketed by us. We also have nearly 21 new products under development, primarily in the cardiovascular, CNS and alimentary therapeutic categories.
We have more than 250 customers, including pharmaceutical wholesalers and distributors, as well as large retail chains. Our US sales and marketing representatives have been trained and aligned to meet the needs of these different types of customers.
